   FS-ATG Product Overview

Easy to Use – Simply ‘Point & Click’

FS-ATG is the world's easiest ATG program - pull-down menus, online help, and test generation wizard guide new users step-by-step through the process. It takes less than 2 minutes to ‘point & click’ a setup program for a board full of devices.

Generates Vectors Faster Than Ever
FS-ATG is a 32-bit Windows 98/NT/2000 application that takes full advantage of today’s powerful PC’s. Small devices finish in seconds and most FPGAs / CPLDs, even the largest and most complex, can develop great tests after in just a few hours.

Vector Tests are Best
FPGAs and CPLD devices have always posed special challenges for test engineers. Like ASICs, progamable logic devices are application-specific, and therefore have no standard library elements. FS-ATG’s functional test vectors detect a wider range of manufacturing and design-related defects than any other single test strategy. For example, FS-ATG vector tests all of these commonly occurring defects including:

  • Is device attached to the board?
  • Is device at right location?
  • Is device correctly oriented?
  • Is device programmed?
  • Is device programmed at right rev-level?
  • Is device responding electrically?
  • Are all pins toggling properly?

How FS-ATG Works
Unlike other hardware or software-based test vector generators, FS-ATG is not a a crude random pattern generator. FS-ATG analyzes the design file of a programmable device (using easily obtainable industry-standard formats like JEDEC, VHDL, & EDIF netlists) and follows the low-level boolean logic of the design, no matter how complex, to detect package pin and internal stuck-at faults throughout the entire device.

FS-ATG corrects for potential race conditions, combines or eliminates redundant vectors to reduce test size, and generates fault-scoring reports that accurately reflect the fault-grading you can expect on your tester. Then, by programmatically, extracting topology information from your board netlist file, FS-ATG accounts for how each device is constrained on the board, and translates the test vectors into your ATE language format, ready to compile into your board-test program and run on your tester.

High Fault Coverage
FS-ATG’s highly sophisticated fault-detection algorithms, generalized to handle all programmable logic devices, are exceptionally powerful for analyzing large, complex devices.

Better Tests - Fewer Vectors
FS-ATG develops fast, efficient tests with short disable sequences. Specialized routines look for single-step disables using the fewest HOLD pins. Vector compression reduces test size, (avg. 2:1 reduction) creating tests that run 2x faster. Supports bi-directional, tri-stateable, and open-collector outputs.

Fault Scoring and Design for Testability (DFT) Reports
Comprehensive Fault-Scoring and Design-For Testability (DFT) reports are generated for each device on your board. These accurate, easy-to-read reports highlight areas for DFT improvement.

World-Class Technical Support
Test engineers around the world know they can rely on Flynn Systems for great technical support. When you call Flynn, you won’t get stuck in voice mail – you’ll work directly with experienced engineers who roll up their sleeves and assist you personally.

You just won’t find an easier or more feature-rich program for generating test vectors. Here are some of the other great features in the FS-ATG:

FS-History

Keeps track of all your FS-ATG jobs! Useful for job-accounting, rerunning projects, viewing job stats, purging old files to save space.
FS-Wizard
Guides you step-by-step through the FS-ATG process. Great tool for training new users.
FS-Logic

Free DFT tool analyzes designs, recommends specific changes for improving testability. Simulates effects of design changes, reports ‘before and after’ results.
FS-View

This fast virtual file-viewer within FS-ATG is useful for displaying any text files, especially huge files that choke text editors.

Plus …

  • Supports NTFS long filenames
  • Translates vectors to different ATE formats in seconds
  • Creates vectors for Viewlogic and Altera simulators
  • ...and much, much, more!
